Wow.

I have started this email seven times and each time there is a curse word in the first sentence. With dangerously smoky air, friends losing their houses to fire, the EPA ignoring the “P” in their name, and some kind of insane Twitter nonsense, it has been a brutal week. Absolutely brutal.

What is a person to do? What is a parent to do?

Put your oxygen mask on.

Just like on airplanes, we need to take care of ourselves first so that we can help others. When the world feels like it’s blowing up, this is especially true. So this week I have self care ideas for you.

1. Chocolate. Come on, you knew I was going to start with that. It is good for you in all kinds of ways. Really!
